10 Years of Axtone: Looking Back On A Decade Of Music
Yeah, Vinelli that's pretty much the story of FTV. At least from what I know about it as well.
Something I can add here; Initially Data Records signed FTV late 2004 with the plan to release it for the UK (FTV was not licensed in this area yet) early 2005. But it got postponed because they thought it needed more vocals.Vinelli wrote:Apparently after the big club success and massive support from other dj's for the original record (on Nero), DATA Records contacted Axwell and hooked him up with Tara Mcdonald and producer Tom Kent.
A little timing correction; (Can You) Feel The Vibe was already released a couple months before Feel The Vibe (Till The Morning Comes).Vinelli wrote:At the same time, while Feel The Vibe (Till The Morning Comes) was dominating the radio, Axwell and the vocalist from the original record, Errol Reid (also appearing on Nothing But Love), made an extended vocal mix named (Can You) Feel The Vibe.
I didn't understand this part?Vinelli wrote:...would come out on Axtone in what I'm guessing would be 2008 or 2009, as Submariner is categorized as the first Axtone release (DV001) where the focus lied on the digital release...
Seems I can’t deny some days just pass me by, you know I feel, I feel much better… At Night!

Thanks for the addons, supermode. As for the DV mention, I believe that the (Can You) Feel The Vibe vocal mix was released through Axtone digitally in 2005, but that the entire package (with all versions released on DATA, MOS, ect ect) got one later on. 2009 to be precise.
It would explain why Feel The Vibe got catogorized as DV (digital version) 002, and Submariner 001. Submariner got released in 2007 so that means this digital feel the vibe package got released after that. Since discogs states 2009 as a release date, I think that might actually be true.
I can't remember too clearly though. I personally got a copy of Feel The Vibe with the Axtone art in 2006 when I first heard it. I also know Jens made the artwork for Feel The Vibe around 2005. How I got a copy of the Original Mix with that particular art is a mystery for me though. Maybe all versions DID got a release in 2005 as well, I really don't know. This was just my best guess.

AXT002DG Feel The Vibe (Remixes)
This release had such an immense package! There are so incredibly many versions to choose from, that it's insane! So I had to split them into two parts. We did the original(s) last time, so now it's time to look at the remixes
.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaiSpa_TZCs
This must be my absolute favorite remix of the bunch. Seamus actually keeps the core of the original very much intact, but at the same time, he gives the original a completely different twist! He obviously focused on that funky bassline, and at first it seems that he just went with that and let the groovy remix play itself out. But then he fuses the melody of the original into that second drop, and it works so goddamn well. Again, my favorite remix of Feel The Vibe of all versions currently out there!

Eric's remix is by far the 'weirdest' remix of the package, in the sense that he really transformed the track into his own like no other from the package. You need to listen closely to discover the parts from the original, and when you catch them the remix makes a lot more sense. It's no question that it's a prydz remix though. I mean, it just screams his name throughout the track. It brings a nice verity to the package.

So after the ultra groovy big festival remix from Saemus, the darker afterhours club mix from Prydz, we also get that laidback summer rework by Flex and Vee, completing axwell's earlier roots. I think we used this for the AFP Worldcup Edition and it fits that sun soaked vibe like a glove
.

To round of the package, we've got a MASSIVE Mike Di Scala remix. Fun fact: he's one half of Camelphat! I'm not sure how to catagorize this remix, it's just so big. My favorite after the Seamus remix, definitely.

As I'm writing this, I'm hearing this remix for the first time. It's the only on released on Axtone that reworked the Tara vocal version. I personally thing it's just the original with a different beat, so it get's a mention for the sake of mentions

AXT003 I Found You
This might be the most iconic Axtone release ever. I think everybody here has heard at least one version of this track. In light of Miami just coming to an end, and the new axwell version of this beauty, it's a nice time t look back on this one.
Where Feel The Vibe was the biggest axwell solo song he has ever done radio wise, it was his Remode of I Found You that completely dominated the dance scene like no other.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upxMPbowOMY
This Remode is what all the fuss was about. Debuted at WMC, I Found You was the song of the festival. Funny act: this version would never be here without Ingrosso! Not sure how serious axwell was, but he mentioned in that axing zane lowe interview, ingrosso actually challenged him to make something with a little more punch. And so he did!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox-htOfAEcc
Originally thought this was just an extended vocal mix, but I just noticed today that this version of I Found You is actually noticeably different apart from the additional Maxy C over the drop. Just listen yourself. It's a bit like that Original HAHAHA Mix for Watch The Sunrise
.

So this is the original mix, dubbed as the classix mix and my personal favorite of the bunch. One of the most soulful records on axtone, if not THE most soulful. To think I only knew of this last year spring!

Yeah, i agree...the whole dance scene was crazy about this tune back in the day...i still listen to it all the time...especially Dubfire Remix, it's so crazy, and i think that was Axs favorite too...he played it all the time...
I still hope i will find some kind of Remake somewhere online, of that Axwell bootleg from Exit 2008...sick shit

In this interview he talked a bit about Classic Mix vs. Remode too (4:48):

Classic Mix is my favorite one as well. 2 years or so ago, I read in the credits that it's based on this song:

And that's how I discovered Axwell for the first time - with the Remode version
It's very close to my heart
It's very close to my heart
There are a few tracks that so much shocked you that you can remember the exact moment when you heard it for the first time. I found U is one of those tracks for me.
Actually, one of the very first release might have been also on Oxyd Records.Vinelli wrote: Feel The Vibe might be one of the most massive releases there ever was on Axtone and ever will be. However, there is still some confusion about it's release. Because you see, this track originally got a release in 2004 on Nero Records instead! It's the reason why it's the only axtone release before 'In My Mind' which doesn't have an Axtone vinyl release.
I might have an idea how it all went down, but before we go into that chaotic mess, let's focus on the marvelous original first!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=889H0Am7vFo
And the version of the track released on Oxyd is a little bit different then the "original / instrumental mix" than most of us know.
But speaking for myself and surely other ones, there is this version that I discovered first.
I'm not sure this was a very legal release back in time, because we feel that the track isn't perfected yet (intro contains a gap and outro is shortened and even cut), and the difference is present in the break and the building to it.
