10 Years of Axtone: Looking Back On A Decade Of Music
Latest post of the previous page:
Actually, one of the very first release might have been also on Oxyd Records.Vinelli wrote: Feel The Vibe might be one of the most massive releases there ever was on Axtone and ever will be. However, there is still some confusion about it's release. Because you see, this track originally got a release in 2004 on Nero Records instead! It's the reason why it's the only axtone release before 'In My Mind' which doesn't have an Axtone vinyl release.
I might have an idea how it all went down, but before we go into that chaotic mess, let's focus on the marvelous original first!

And the version of the track released on Oxyd is a little bit different then the "original / instrumental mix" than most of us know.
But speaking for myself and surely other ones, there is this version that I discovered first.
I'm not sure this was a very legal release back in time, because we feel that the track isn't perfected yet (intro contains a gap and outro is shortened and even cut), and the difference is present in the break and the building to it.

AXT003 I FOUND U (REMIXES)
The remixes were a little snowed under because of that Remode from Axwell himself, but there were definitely a few nice ones in the package!

Dubfire's remixes were originally released on Positiva, but were apparently later added to Axtone officially. The two mixes consisted of a Summer Of Luv and a Summer Of Dub remix, with the Summer Of Luv being the most known of the two. It was part of the Axtone volume 1 compilation and brought a nice more mellow progressive feel to the Remode.

This is by far my favorite remix of from the remixes. The classic took a soulful turn, where the Remode was made to hit harder. But where was the funk?! You can't have a vocal like that without funk!!! Well Soul Avengerz thought just that apparently. He kept the remode break almost entirely intact, with good reasons, but pasted a delicious creative disco-esque climax to it. Great out of the box remix.

This is the first of many future Axtone works from Ivan, this time together with Grant under their TV Rock alias. This is a very MOS styled, stabby piano track, a very retro sounding remix if you ask me.

This Dubfire remix... I was listening to it without finding it in this Axwell Exit set, I loved the dark beginning of it, and then piano hits you, such a classy remix

yes, really polished. It resembles the Commited To Sparkle Motion remix from CLMD a little (or the other way aroundHouse5 wrote:This Dubfire remix... I was listening to it without finding it in this Axwell Exit set, I loved the dark beginning of it, and then piano hits you, such a classy remix

Dubfire Remix is by far the best...and Ax nailed that combination in his Exit set, playing the Summer Of Dub Remix first then a little bit of Remode in the breakdown and then continuing with the Summer Of Luv Remix throughout...what a vibe...killer remix

To me, the classic mix is excessively underrated compared with the remode.
Sure the remode of I Found U is good for clubs, but the classic mix is so relevant for the real house music that Axwell can bring.
The sample used is really great, it's a rare technic from Axwell but when he does it it's really good, plus the summer / lounge vibe is present. For me the only good version is this classic mix.

cannot agree more. The classic mix got completely snowed under! In fact, I think I heard it once or twice when it got releases, forgot about it and continued with the remode. Only last year spring, I discovered how good that Classic Mix actually is. It's without a question the best version of the bunch, and one of my personal favorite axwell singlesHalcyon wrote:To me, the classic mix is excessively underrated compared with the remode.

Some I Found U bonus material:
There was actually a Japan Edition of this track, released in said country including the classic mix, the remode but also two exclusive remixes by japanese dance producers on Japan Mafia Recording (no joke).
One is by Daish Dance, and the piano work sounds a little Final Fantasy-ish if you ask me. Or maybe that's just a horrible form of stereotyping. Either way, it's pretty neat and contains some extra vocals from Max!

The other one is by Mitomo Tokoto and is veeery electro-house inspired, a style that was immensely popular at the time, and still is. It apparently went numbah 1 in the local dance charts of japan, so yeah.
And ofcourse, a recent revealed remix by someone called Axwell, of which we can only hope it get's a proper release sometime soon.

It's not so recent, as told in the topic of I Found U, it is a remix Axwell did find in his old computer.Vinelli wrote: And ofcourse, a recent revealed remix by someone called Axwell, of which we can only hope it get's a proper release sometime soon.

And I'm 100% sure that back in the day it has been considered as a early demo for Open Your Heart, as the gimmick and the chords are 100% sound-a-like.
I doubt there will be any release of this one, though that wouldn't be a bad idea.
