You really have no idea.
I still got to find undiscovered / forgotten stuff, last week. I follow him every single day since 2004.
He's a world of his own.

I know what you mean. I'm sure I still haven't heard it all, his pre-axtone discog is massive in official singles and remixes alone. But there are so many bootlegs, and tracks he worked on, and edits and ect ect ect.

O and don't hesitate to jump in with additional info! Would love to hear some Halycon axfacts here and there! :)

Next up is one of the weirdest, but for many also one of the best Axwell singles of all time!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UhblFWw7NU

Submariner is unique in every sense in the word. It sounds pretty much like nothing else axwell has ever done, or proceeded to do in the future. It seemed to land out of nowhere for many fans. The art is also quite interesting, because it's the only time Jens used that graphical style on any record for axtone. It was also the first release with the DIGI catalog. I'm not sure what the idea behind that and DIGI002 (Feel The Vibe) were excactly though.

Apparently, there was a vocal version of this planned at first, but was later cut. There isn't any footage of it anymore though, unfortunately :(.
Huge track...proper progressive house from Ax...one of the best...loving it and listening to it regularly... :)

AXT004 It's True
2007

Who would have thought that this trio would eventually become one of the most heavily discussed things on the forum. Before the AXING tornado hit, they had this little single in 2007, where our beloved duo teamed up with Salem for the very first time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp3IzaztQWA
For me, this is the first 'song' on Axtone, and it's no surprise that with the song-based Axwell Ʌ Ingrosso project, they choose to work with Salem again. This track is pure magic to me, and one in which I felt instantly in love with.

Although there is no denying that the sound of today calls for a little more power, I still think that the stuff they are doing today isn't that far off from this release. There is just something magical about their combined forces.

Salem wasn't just on the vocals this time though, as he actually is responsible for a lot of acoustic elements in the track (the guitar for example). He's credited as a co-producer for that very reason. Apart from it being Salem's first appearance on the label, it's also one of only two axtone releases that use an actual rare animal sample.

The more you know..

The thing about this release and the Axing project being similar, really reveals itself in this Remode, or Reprise as they've decided to call it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they used the same intro for the Extended Something New, as they used for this Reprise.

I'm not sure what's the main difference in this version, other length and added intro/outro. But yeah, it's funny to hear those claps.

By far my favorite remix of the bunch, the Roog & Prom remix. Also used for the World Cup special, this rework transformed what was a song, into a house track. Roog was part of the very big Housequake formation in holland with Erick E at the time, and he definitely brought some of that flavor into this remix with Prom. I remember Axwell talking about certain "kadush dush" tribal sound that he expected to hear when he was on Ibiza for the very first time (but the island was already full electro house-ish back then), and I think that this track kinda matches that idea. Love it!

To showcase the electro-house vibes, that was still going strong as ever, Dabruck & Klein did the first of many more remixes for Axtone. They kept the spirit of the original by keeping the break intact, but pasted a bassheavy drop to it. I guess it was made for those moments the original lacked a little power.

Top 5 Axwell track ever for me. This one is magic. I get transported straight to the beach, and sunshine, it cheers me up when I'm down, and as I've said before, it's actually rather poppy: a hint as to what was to come. Even though this track is nearly ten years old now it still boggles my mind with it's production. To me, it's the 'warmest' track Ax has ever done. One of my favourite songs of all time. Also, only recently did i discover this: not sure which one came first, but an interesting listen:

FANTASTIC find Cam Heine!

Always wondered if there was an original. I def think this came first, ax heard it and they decided to work together on a dance version. I really love Samen his vocals btw, they are the reason I dig the axing songs in the first place
