Fek it, let's do them now! We're in a nice flow!
AXT009R Leave The World Behind (The Remixes)
2009
So the remixes were split up in three parts. The first one was from an australian we know well...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBq22GfkWcs
The first remix came quickly after the original, landing only three weeks later at the hands of Dirty South. At first, it seemed pretty identical to the original to me, and maybe it generally is. He used a lot of parts from the original, but who can blame him really? Remixing a track like this is mission impossible from the start.
But yeah, after listening more closely I discovered that Dragan actually did quite a lot. He basically tamed that beast of an original, and toned it down to a more laidback version, which he did very well imo! He switched up the tempo quite a lot, and just gave that sunny morning twist to such a big record. That additional violin (I think) works so well along side of the original. Lovely!

Ah yes, daddy's groove. Another debut for a name we would see doing a lot of fantastic things for the label later on. They made up of the second package together with Dabruck & Klein in the summer of 2009 to revamp the record, and the already brilliant artwork got a nice rainbow look.
I suddenly remembered I quite like the remix now that I'm hearing it again
. They kept the insane tempo, but stripped it a little and focused on the intro/outro, resulting in a mean but respectful remix. I kinda adore what they did with the intro elements (producers, help me out here!). That tutututu tutu tu, is really catchy and kind of iconic, as this part of the remix was played out quite a lot due to that Like Mike & Vegas SHM edit! Awesome first production from the Italian trio.

Dabruck & Klein are back again from their It's True remix duties, to take on the emperor of anthems. What I like about this remix is that they left the electro sounds for what they are, and tried something more organic. To me, this remix almost sounds like a band cover. The bassline is quite "acoustic" sounding to me, and the breakbeat only adds to that feeling. The first drop is a little bit shaky, but after a while the rythem (
) get's quite catchy!

Okay, so there is A LOT of backstory to this one, that you guys can figure out for me. All I know is that it got a release waaay back in september after absolutely dominating the SHM residency at Pacha at the time.
It completely revamped the record once again, and to this date, is one of the most popular edits!

I also wanna share my memories, I know it's long, but this track means so much to me but I guess I'm not the only in here
I started going out to the clubs around late 2010 / 2011 in Vienna, and there in club specifically, the Ride Club. I was just starting discovering electronic music and LTWB is one of the tracks I really remember from back then, in my "Ride Club time", as I call it. Today, I wouldn't step a single foot into the club because it's too commercial but back then I didn't have so much of a clue about electronic dance music so I didn't care. I just wanted to go out, drink a bit (ok, sometimes too much which resulted in throwing up haha^^ - that doesn't happen today, I'm mature enoght now), to dance my ass off (no big room = no jumping back then), to have a good time and sometimes to check some bitches (which basically never worked out, until today
) I've been to the club almost every weekend and it got played every night I've been there - and I felt in love instantly, especially with the vocal and that euphoric second drop. For me, it's my all-time favorite dance track (although I also love deadmau5' Strobe and Steve Angelo's Tivoli (also from my "Ride Club time" back then) very much) because it's so timeless. You can play it out in 15, 20, even 30 years and will sound as good as when it was released, it will overcome all trends and hypes. Every time I listen to that track I feel like got thrown back into my "Ride Club time" where I didn't care about how a certain kick sounded or how the mixdown or mastering was. I was just way less prejudiced back then, was free and just wanted to have fun. What a pitty this time will never come back...

Yeah, but he and his folks moved to Australia when he was like only 10 or something...he lived there almost his whole life and he's obviously loves it, so u can't really blame someone thinking or calling him Australian...Dhikhej wrote:Isn't DS Serbian?
Daddy's Groove Rework is off the chart...works so well in places like Caffe Mambo or some great preparty as well...but Dark Forest Edit is the shitVinelli wrote:

I think there's actually a small clip in Take One when Ax & Seb are making this edit right before one of their Pacha nights, as Ax referred to it as ''last minute edit''

The deep feeling of the Daddy's Groove is for me the best way to handle a remix on LTWB.
I wonder why nobody talked about my own remix of the track I did back in time, ahem...
Shameless sharing : http://www45.zippyshare.com/v/UoNyVto0/file.html
It's still sharing memories of the release somehow, so...

About the Dark Forest Edit; DV&LM initially did a remix/bootleg in which they used 'The First Rebirth'.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4YV5ipjDN4
This couldn’t be cleared, but then SHM made the edit containing the DV&LM remix (without The First Rebirth parts), Daddy’s Groove remix and the original mix. I guess this was also some kind of elegant solution to put the DV&LM remix out as an official release?

Aah Halcyon Day, I already thought I knew your name from somewhere else haha. I've heard your remix of Miike Snow - Black & Blue on yt a long time ago. I liked the chords you did there btw.Halcyon wrote:Shameless sharing : http://www45.zippyshare.com/v/UoNyVto0/file.html
