Awesome!!! Then it's maybe a good time to land on AXT025, a fan favorite!
Thomas Gold naturally already had some axtone time with his collaborative remix together with the boss for 'Blow Up'...but this time, the (ger)man unleashed a full original! What would later be revealed to be the lead track for his axtone compilation, was already hugely received as a standalone signing!

Sing2me screams quality in every sense of the word, really. It's a huge bundle of details, like many of Thomas his tracks at the time. To me, the bassline is where the most beauty is. It's just so bouncy and rhythmic. A realy joy to listen to through headphones. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the drums before the final drop are one of the best I've ever heard! A masterclass of production.
For the artwork, jens with another purple (it really was the year of purple back then, apparently!) background, and I believe it's the very first time he used one of his own models for the cover. In fact, Axfact Incoming, I believe the women in the artwork is Jens his wife!
Anyways, back to Gold. The track came in really high on the well known DMC hypelist prior to 2011 Miami I think, and was finally fully previewed by the Mafia when they sat for Tong. They released it in spring 2012, during WMC, and it shot to #1 in like a day!
Thomas really was the man of the moment in 2012, with this track as a crowning achievement of that mighty gold year.

Nice reading on that one, Vincent. I have to say I haven't listened to this one for years and while now listening to it I'm missing the Alright-Acapella

AXTO26 Leave A Light On
2012
Leave A Light On, or LALO as many of us call it. A release close to my heart. The debut of one of my favorite artist on the Axtone label, the return of Henrik B and the (for now) last appearance of legendary Axtone vocalist Rudy!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wbecID4NTQ
A year in the making, as Axtone revealed themselves in their description. Henrik B is of course a name we were already very familiar with, as he remixed Teenage Crime back in 010, together with Axwell himself. This time however, the swede makes his original debut. A debut, as I said earlier, accompanied by 'the voice of axtone' rudy! Not a bad way to start I would say.
Hearing it again as I type this, there is simply no denying that Rudy played a huge role in making this release so awesome. There is a certain sincerity in his voice only a few dance vocalist, or vocalist in general, possess. Funny snack-size AXFACT: Rudy actually visited and registered on the forum to post in the 'Leave A Light On' thread. Some people were arguing about what the exact lyrics were, as we were all still listening to unclear Rips at the time. Rudy came to the rescue with the correct ones, bringing peace to the forum once again

But below those killer vocals, there is a beauty of an instrumental laying about. That rhythm/percussion/whatever... It just seems to jump from bar to bar so fluently, I gotta say that listening now, I remembered how unique this beat actually is. And yet, this already stellar original got competed with an insane quality remix. And NO, not a remix by Axwell himself this time, but the debut of a certain Dutch duo.
NO_ID, already responsible for a handful of killer tracks on Michael Woods his label, finally got picked up after Axwell hearing this track:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY7HM36XrRk
A tribute to Josh Wink's "How's Your Evening So Far", NO_ID showcased their unique approach to big room dance music with this driving track, and Ax simply couldn't ignore this killer release. I believe he even made a personal edit for it as it was such a huge track in his sets. Well naturally, Axtone wanted them on the label after that. And the duo delivered 200% with their remix.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyMdKYTmnP0
It has to be said that at first, a lot of us thought it resembled their success hit a little too much. But, when the full quality arrived in the trailer, the finer details showed how they took their style, but o so cleverly woved it around the original. So smooth, so detailed...To me, this is one of the best remixes on Axtone ever. The original parts, vocals and their input go hand in hand, as if they made the whole thing from scratch. But at the same time, you can clearly hear Henrik B's original elements surfacing throughout the track. An A+ introduction for a duo that would go on to take Axtone by storm under a new name, a massive two years from their debut and only appearance under 'NO_ID'.
As always, I want to conclude with the input that wraps it all up: the artwork. I get the feeling I've said this sentence at almost every lookback, but again I have to state it: one of my favorite artworks on axtone ever. The colours (the white border running seemlessly into the clouds beneath), the lighting effects, the positioning of the lighthouse and the mysterious moon or planet behind the clouds...It all looks absolutely fantastic! So if Breakfast Design wasn't already drowned in compliments in this thread enough, here's another thumbs up

Significant release for sure, it took us time to really appreciate the NO_ID remix of this track!
The best plan would have been a separate release of the original and the remix, because none of them rocked a lot the charts if I remember correctly

i agree, no_id's remix is one of the best remixes on axtone releases. pure piano beats floating around their significant sound.
