AXT034 Falling (Committed To Sparkle Motion)
2013
I've been looking forward to this...one of my favorite Axtone releases of all time!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbVaeXpkZXc
This came completely out of nowhere back in 2013 and when you compare it with the rest of the label, it still feels like one of the (delightfully) weirdest things Axtone has put out so far. The Dubvision remix gave a slight hint on what was to come, but I don't think anyone expected the 'song' the original Committed To Sparkle Motion turned to be.
The track is done by Discopolis, a four piece band from Scotland. Before they signed this track to Axtone, they had some material out but not that much. One of them being this remix I quite like myself:

It's a shame that their stuff is so rare! In fact, a follow up to their Axtone release never came. After their debut on Axwell's label, the band decided to call it a day...at least for the Discopolis guise. They are currently brining life to their new project called 'Stillhound', under which they already have some new material out:

The original Committed To Sparkle Motion is quite special indeed, as it's the alone in it's genre on Axtone. Don't think we ever had something similar, although we did have Miike Snow reworked before in 2012. For me personally, the original was an instant classic and eventually it grew to be one of my favorite Axtone releases or songs in general! But the original wasn't alone...

The return of the boss! After being absent for more than a year on his own label, Axwell returns with the first post-SHM pulse under his solo guise. The Axwell edit is really similar yet hugely different from the original. He actually took the already electronica sounding parts and reworked this alternative soft song into a somewhat dancier kind of record. I personally think this is one of the coolest things he has done, and it really gives that extra boost to this already very awesome release.
What completes it all if the artwork. The colors Jens used are so full of life, and really seem to fit the song. AXFACT: the artwork is actually a still from the official video axtone-ilized!
Let's conclude this awesome lookback with that very clip in full!

Well, first time I heard Falling in some other version than the DubVision remix, was in the LTWB documentary and that scene kinda stuck in my head:

But it does not exactly sound like the original or Axwell Edit. But still pretty nice version that led me to the Axwell Edit, which is now one of my favourite Axtone tracks.

Another story : the WAV files STRAIGHT OUT OF MASTERING STUDIO almost got leaked. I think you could find all the WAVs from a SoundCloud private link of Axwell's SC page, dunno how we found them anymore. But it was quite a critical time where we proved Axtone that they could trust us! I'm sure that it's after this incident that they gave a lot more importance to the forum!
And as Vinelli said, what a freaking release. I still listen to those versions, really a glimpse of what was to come in 2013, one of the best years of Axtone, if not the best to me because I was really following the label at that time
