Thanks for the response! I haven't listened to the Juicy Beach set yet, but having heard you at Mansion twice I thought everything you played was amazing and was having trouble understanding all the comments in this thread. Keep up the great work! Oh and nice finishing touches on LTWB =)

1) well, since i knew that this set was gonna be recorded, there was no chance in hell i was gonna play new shit and for blogsters to cut it up nice and tidy and to release before im ready.
2) if you have ever been to the wmc, you will know that especially this year there is even more "general clubbers" than chinstrokers so maybe thats why there was more crowdpleasing than in any of my "good sets"
3)the clubs soundsystem this year was so incredibly shit that you would have to play tracks that had hooks or moments that could jump out the speakers, cause there was no chance in hell people were gonna love a "bass oommhp" since there was no bass.

there ya go

haha... definitely speaking like a true business man axwell. great producer/dj + business skills = damn successfull

ps. i guess i would be considered one of those web-radio listeners and underground music but the more I listen to the set the more i like it. It definitely accommodate for both crowds (general clubbers and those that are in it for the beats)

Ha - exactly what I said 8-)

Especially the blogging-thing... I'd Axwell is really angry since the Hungary set - and I understand it...

Again: it's separating the wheat from the chaff ...

Says a lot about Ax for him to come back and explain the set, there really was no need for him to do so!!Although nice to get a bit of reassurance for a "Chinstroker" like me

Cool to see that Axwell puts a lot of thought into his mixes and unlike other djs he doesn't just produce the same set everytime, thats what I always like about him, if you hear a set from him and compare it to one 6 months before, most of it is different and fresh!

I like this set, i don't love it. I read Ax's answers, but there's a problem!

That means we will never have a fucking set with incredible new tunes, Ax new work and everything ... :( Cause it HAS TO be broadcasted in order to come to our ears !!

Fuck those damn rippers.

What's the solution for your fans, ax?

I love this kind of debate and to have Ax himself join, it's great.

I think we will get new, hot tracks live as long as sets aren't recorded. We have to understand what happened last summer was so unprofessional, it's not just a matter of Ax not going back to a certain club, it's a matter of all of us having access to unfinished or unreleased material that needs to see the light only when the DJ himself wants to, not when somebody who's illegally recording a set decides to.

The shows I attended in Miami were indeed hot... they played all the upcoming trax, some hot bootlegs... but this one was being recorded, so you can't risk having the same problems again, I guess...

However, I think there should be nothing wrong with sets that include crowd noises and stuff, I'm not sure if Ax agrees but my thinking (and once again, it's not up to me to say that) is that this certain kind of sets let you play some new tracks while not having them get a HQ rip that will be somewhat 'playable' and damage the actual release...

Also, might I add that while it makes sense to not go very underground in a place where clubbers might not be too educated in good electronic music like the US, I think it'd be a shame if this becomes the norm. But damn, clubbers here in the US do not have that 'club culture' we do have back in Europe, that's for sure something I've learned here...

I've never seen a "must" for going "underground"... and I'm def not there to educate anyone - maybe someone like Axwell can do this - but even he is booked for entertaining - NOT educating...

It really depends on the location and the circumstances ... the discussion is interesting - but the thread itself ridiculous!

I love going to clubs and listening to all my favorite tracks while singing along. But you have to admit daherbst, there is nothing like the feeling you get when you hear a banging new track at a club you've never heard before. Just the feeling of wtf is this, wow this is awesome is pure win! I'm glad I caught the boys at Mansion and the pool party. Both nights were fantastic!

Yessir - but only for those who are really with the music...

Remember that not everyone goes to a Club for "just" feeling the vibe... ;)
