This could be an interesting topic.
What do you prefer within the house genre; songs with female or male vocals and why?

Hard to say - it depends on the style of the track...

For "mainfloor" tracks I would say Male Vocalists are a bit better - for melodic or warm up tracks female are often better!

I really love those powerfull female vocals like show me love, often female vocals are higher so it fits better with a bass melody me thinks, but that depends on the track.

I agree that usually I associate more powerful tracks with a male voice, and sweeter sounds with a female vocalists... It just deppends.

Axwell usually works with good vocalists, not just lately but for example with his Mambana tracks. Besides Ax, Martin Solveig and David Guetta often choose their singers wisely.

To show some love for the female vocalists I wanna say that I loved Andrea Britton on 'Counting down the days' :D That was one of Axwell's biggest ones in Spain. Also, I was always impressed with Loleatta Holloway's 'Love sensation'. I loved to see that one get a new release a few years ago, that vocal's so powerful.

This thread is fun :)

Ax played it without the vocals @ Sensation White in May... but I do like the track with Andrea's work on it.

However, sometimes tracks do get spoiled when they get a vocal added for a commercial release. Take 'Pjanoo', I've heard it's getting released with a vocal and I'm afraid they might spoil the song doing this...

Maybe you feel the same way about 'Riding the wave'/'Counting down the days'.
