Hey everyone... Saw our friend veinar90 drop his first mix on the forum and I felt like I could also share mines... It's up on RS, I called it Mighty Sounds because I saw the cover for Sizeism while looking for a name and it just sounded okay to me  Lately I'm reli getting interested in mixing and production but I'm just a beginner doin' this, actually did this on Virtual DJ.

ok,i've listened your mix!
first of all,in most of cases, when you jump from one song to another, you decrease volume of main song, and increase volume of other song,so what you need is more creativity!
I really like songs which you used, there are some old ones and new ones!!
this is my amateur opinion :)
Keep up doing this stuff!
PS can you post tracklisting?

Well:

first of all: the most important thing is practising... so, before listening to it - good job! :)

Mixing straight is, though sometimes not that easy, only the most basic thing in DJing.

I would say your next step is: try to mix irrecognizable -take care when you fade in & out...
For me there is happening far too less - this might be fair enough for a mix cd - but not for a live set... but that's of course just my humble opinion. Also I'm not that minimal fan, so maybe I don't understand the message of this music :)

The DJ Heaven is what Axwell does:
The costand use of: 3 or 4 CDJs, loops, effects, the (I call it) "Mixing in Waves": one track explodes into the next (it's hard to explain it in English), Acapellas, Mashups...
If a track has no real peak, create it with loops, effects and Acapellas - no track runs from the beginning to it's end.

all in all: make the crow going mad, that's what House Music is made for... :D

Hey there! Thanks to those who downloaded and even more thanks to both daherbst and veinar90 for taking the time to review it...

First of all, tracklist (forgot to post it originally):

1. Sebastian San - Sun rising up (C2 Edit)
2. Wally Lopez - Go ahead (Christian Varela Remix)
3. Veerus & Maxine - America
4. Oxia - Domino
5. Tocadisco - Morumbi (Gabriel Marchiso Remix)
6. Swoop - Black market (Butch Remix)
7. Sebastien Leger - Jaguar
8. Deadmau5 - Brazil (Second mix)
9. Mescal Kid (Steve Angello) - Magic (Second mix)
10. Mandy vs Booka Shade - Body language (Tocadisco Remix)

You guys are right in the sense that it sounds more like a chilly mix cd than something you'd play in any nightclub... Lots of minimal sounds and pretty basic mixing, taking few risks.

However I'm doing more daring stuff lately, mashing songs up, playin a little with acapellas and stuff, I think I'll post one of those soon...

In any case thanks for the reviews and everyone else is invited to let their voice be heard too. As for me, I'm gonna try and continue improving my work and follow your advice guys. I'm only just getting started in mixing and stuff, but I'm loving every minute of it!
