Nice !

C'mon that is ridiculous, you know it is.
Certainly not, I just don't want to look up to some guy with a big smurk on his face who knows he cheated his way onto the stage...I don't like my leg pulled ;)

Cheated his way ?
In case you still don't know, Guetta didn't wait for Garraud to be a DJ...
And he already got his own club before he's first track...
He's not cheating, he's the name, Garraud is the musician.
They both agreed on that, Joachim Garraud is getting paid don't worry for him ;)
Plus, Garraud has been writing/composing for a lot of people, do you want me to name them in case you wanna rage about some more ? :D

Is the fact that Guetta's rich getting on your nerves ?
Life's unfair, wake up !

So what about taking this empty comment and fill it up with some facts before you drop words like those ?

Anyways, I don't like Guetta/Garraud's music, but I feel like everybody's pointing a finger at 'em, for something stupid :

- Being great CEOs of their own names,
&
- Chosing an alternative way to make music.

Did you know B. Bennassi didn't compose/write any of his tracks ?
He's just giving a "DJ point of view" to his cousin, who's making all of the work.
Do we have the right to blame him for being a liar, for stealing music or "cheating his way on stage" ?
Nope, 'cause he's good.

So is Guetta !
OK, his sets are not top notch, often commercial, but...
Wtf ? As long as he's making people dance, what's the matter ?
He's a quality DJ, and most of people want to dance on what they hear on the radio... (And I agree, this is a big pity but it's like that, and not gonna change.)
And this is what he's giving them !
If somebody wants to listen good music (like Axwell, Prydz and many more's sets) then you just don't go & see Guetta !

So who's to blame ?

The DJ who wants to make $ & make people dance, or people who dance on & buy his tracks ? :)

Woops! I didn't mean any particular person when I wrote that post! Not David Guetta or anyone else! Believe me, I was a big fan of his early stuff actually...Still am, mainly of Chris Willis who is f*cking amaaazing! Good discussion anyway! I agree on what you said!

The thing is, in David Guetta's case i've never had the illusion that he was the musician behind the David Guetta Project (Better name perhaps ;)) I knew Joachim Garraud was the studio guy....but in the case of Axwell, who is (IMO) a selfmade man, climbing to where he is now with his very own housy sound, makes me respect him more because I'm a musician myself, you see? Of course I respect good businessmen, Frits Phillips (Dutch guy ;)) and Mr.Steve Jobs (Apple) and David Guetta for that matter. But I'm pretty sure Frits and Steve aren't producers, and they don't claim to be...

Steve does know what a great computer should be though :)

Cheers!

Yeah,

My message was for everybody who made a comment earlier, not something against you sorry if it sounded like that !

Anyways, sure men like Axwell deserve more respect i totally agree on that, but, we should never forget that Roger Sanchez has been a massive help for Axwell from what I've heard.
And it seems like Bob Sinclar has been as well ! :P

Yeah well..

I think Roger did help him (I think he played Axwell's tracks, and maybe gave him some contacts ? Who knows) , it's something I believe quite true.
As well as Axwell's been a fan of Bob Sinclar for some time now (at least that's something he said, and he sounded quite honest actually) & apparently he even asked him for some advice on his old board.

Roger Sanchez & Bob Sinclar where so bigger than Axwell some years ago, I'd even say untill last year ;)

So who helped who, I think Axwell would tell you !
If he ever reads this topic :P

Anyways, Axwell is an artist I respect a lot, and he's making a really good music, that I love to play & listen to, but guys, there's no shame about being helped'out ! :)

Well you may be right concerning Sinclair - but for me - all of them didn't really develop themselves - Roger plays another style - and his influence on the scene now is far under Axwells...

Lol,
What you said would be like comparing Carl Cox & another DJ...
Roger Sanchez is way bigger than Axwell (actually I prefer Axwell as a Dj / Producer).

It's great when people help each other out! Introducing to someone, helping to get gigs or be out there. that's all good but in the end you gotta have something to show for. I for one think there's waaaay to much nepotism in the music industy!

I remember a guy who called himself Morris on the old axwell forum, now he's a great guy (Didn;t want to tell me his real name...) He gave me some tips'n'tricks I still use today! Thanks again Morris (Think I'm gonna name a track after you) The Morris Mystery ;p
